Silver Screen Film Evening at Dunkeswell

An evening of Devon, Somerset and South West films was held at Dunkeswell Community Hall on Saturday 14th July at 7.30 pm

Archive film from the 1900’s to the present day, including hilarious clips from 1960’s TV, great extracts from films about cider making (and drinking!), withy making, peat and coal digging, haymaking, local railways and extracts from contemporary films made with Blackdown schools about local food and farming were shown.

Make a film about your family and friends or your local history.

There was an opportunity on Saturday 21st July to ‘Make A Film In A Day’ with the New Eyes team.  This was free and open to all, young or old wih no experience required. You could learn about digital filmmaking, have lots of fun and create something to be enjoyed by future generations!

Make a Movie in a Day

The programme began last summer with a 'Make a Movie in a Day' workshop aimed at young people in the Blackdown Hills. The day, held at Churchinford Cricket Pavilion, was run by Four Reel Films based in Somerset. To see two of the films made on the day click  on the images below.

Workshops for Commissioned Artists

Digital Photography and Film Making Workshops for commissioned artists took  place on the 11th October and 18th October 2006 at Uffculme School. Information sessions about the web, further training opportunities and community workshops are all in the pipeline.

Further details will appear shortly

Somerset Film and Video Ltd brief was to devise and run a series of workshops/small scale projects using computer and digital skills for people based in the Blackdown Hills. Some of these may be artist led, and others more technically based. Some artist-led ones would arise from the commission proposals. They will also provide technical support for the commissioned artists in the final exhibitions and events.
